worrying about the calories. You’ll wear a life jacket
when you swim across the lake and you’ll bring your new
white shoes up to the mountains and get them dirty
and scuffed up and covered in sap. If you love me,
you’ll bruise your knees on boulders and cut them up
on thorns when you retrieve blackberries to make a pie
with too much sugar. If you love me, you’ll pick up
the tab and cash in on your body for more life.
